CRACCO – Maria, Dec. 23, 1927 – Aug. 22, 2011. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom after a brief fight with complica¬tions following heart surgery. Prede-ceased by her husband Giovanni and brothers. She is survived by her loving family: daughter Nesa (Agnese), son¬-in-law Saverio, grandchildren Chris¬tina and Derek, great-granddaughter Lauren, brother, nieces, and nephews in Italy. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at St. Paul’s Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catho¬lic Church, 5251 Joyce St., Vancouver, B.C. Entombment to follow at the Abbey Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, B.C. In lieu of flowers, dona¬tions to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foun¬dation would be appreciated. JOHNSON – Marilyn Diane (nee Martin), Oct. 7, 1939 – Aug. 21, 2011. Diane passed away peacefully with family at her side Aug. 21, 2011. Predeceased by her husband Gordon in December 2003 and brother Grant. She is survived by her loving family: son Kirk (Joanne); daughter Kelsey (Sean); grandchildren Sebastien, Kylie, Katelyn, and Avery; her mother Elizabeth; brother Gillen (Bon¬nie); sister Leslie (Norman); and many nieces and nephews and friends. Diane was such a positive force, she had a zest for life that was infectious, and her strength and faith were inspiring. Her passion in her life was her family. She was an amazing daughter, wife, mother, and Grammie. Diane also dedicated 23 years as a Director for the Royal City Youth Ballet Company. She will be re¬membered for her vision, leadership, integrity, heart, belief in people, cour¬age, inspiration, faith, elegance, and love. We were all blessed to know her and be part of her life. Funeral Mass and celebration of life was held Friday, Aug. 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2250 150 St., Surrey, B.C. Reception to follow. LEONE – Emilia, 1914 - 2011. Born in Ponte, Benevento, Italy, Emilia passed away peacefully in Burnaby, B.C., Aug. 26, 2011. Predeceased by husband Co¬simo in 2001 and son Umberto in 2008. Lovingly survived by son Domenico; sisters Vittoria and Carmela; daugh¬ters-in-law Sandra and Lynne; grand¬children Frank, Robert, and Jennifer; great grandchildren Sofia, Chiara, and Ryder; sisters-in-law Ilia and Caterina; and many other relatives in B.C., U.S., Australia, and Italy. Emilia’s passion in life was her family. She will be dearly missed. We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses on Unit 5 at Burnaby General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, do¬nations to the Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sor¬rows Catholic Church, 525 S. Slocan St., Vancouver, B.C. Entombment to fol¬low at Ocean View Abbey Mausoleum, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, B.C. Bell & Burnaby Funeral Home. 

 

RIZZUTO – Diego, born Nov. 19, 1917, in Vallelonga, Vibo Valentia, Italy, passed away with his family by his side Aug. 21, 2011, in Burnaby, B.C. Diego is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Caterina; daughter Elisa (Manlio) Mottes; sons Bruno (Diane) and Vincenzo; grand¬children Karen (Robert), Richard, David (Kim), Randene, and Reanne (Edward); great grandchildren Mathew, Adam, Kalel, Maysia, and Kianna; nieces; nephews; and other family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 3860 Triumph St., Burnaby. Entombment to follow at the Abbey, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Children’s Hospital would be appreciated. RYE – William Isaac, June 4, 1922 – Aug.20,2011. William Isaac Rye passed away peacefully Aug. 20 surrounded by his loving family. He will be especially missed by Elizabeth, his wife of 63 years, and his two daughters Sharon and Noreen and their families, as well as many other relatives and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at St. Francis de Sales Church, 6610 Bal¬moral St., Burnaby. Interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.bellburnaby.com.
